The Circus is back in town at The Hive in 2023, Saturday 1-3pm. Open to all, big and small! Try your luck at juggling, diablo, plate spinning, staff spinning and balancing things on your head with Rosie the multi-talented performer and dynamic teacher of circus skills.
“Rosie is a Drama and Theatre Studies graduate with extensive experience performing and teaching circus arts. She performs juggling, object manipulation, fire and theatre and is quietly obsessed with balancing objects on her head. She was a longstanding teacher at the National Centre for Circus Arts, working with students of all ages before moving to Bristol to begin inspiring the circus youth of the West Coutry. January 2020 marked the end of her most exciting project to date; performing on the Jon Hopkins worldwide ‘Singularity’ tour, finishing at the Sydney Opera House. She has since been exploring and experimenting with new ideas and games to engage young and old(er!).”
Rosie loves throwing, catching, spinning and balancing. Think of her like a big springer spaniel in a baseball cap.
Having had the good fortune to be introduced to circus at a workshop when she was 14, Rosie, predominantly self-taught, has since forged a career not only performing all over the world, but inspiring children and young people to explore their own juggling potential.
Rosie, known to her friends as Panda, sees great value in the wide range of benefits activities like juggling provide both socially and for our neural development; building neural pathways, grey matter and patience. (Though she recognises the pathways to patience can be long and winding).
Join us once again to play and explore through circus.
