Twenty4Carat

Kelly aka 24KARAT from Tunbridge Wells got into the Hardcore and Jungle sounds way back in the early 90s by tuning into pirate radio stations Weekend Rush, Pulse and the legendary Kool FM.

Hooked on the new sounds of urban Britain he started buying and collecting vinyl as a young teenager and flyers for his bedroom wall.
His first rave was Tazzmania at Hastings Pier soon followed by Heat and then most Saturday at Pure Science in Atomics Maidstone.
A few years later he started DJing at house parties and then put on his first own night in his hometown Tunbridge Wells with Nicky Blackmarket headlining. Apart from having a residency in a South London club to feature more liquidy sets, he was a regular face on radio stations such as Juice FM, Dnbworldwide or the now defunct Innocence.

To this day, Twenty4Carat is as passionate about Drum & Bass as ever and is still collecting tunes, although no longer on vinyl. It’s a way of life that led to great friendships over the years and much more. He cites Rupture in London and Sun and Bass in Sardinia as his favourite events, as mixtures of jungle old skool vibes, deep and rolling, feel good liquid alongside bass heavy amen drums, sure favourites as featured in this exclusive mix for our podcast series!
