Prince Fatty

Prince Fatty

Prince Fatty is one of the UK’s great modern dub characters: a producer, engineer and musician who’s built a cult following by doing things the proper way — tape warmth, spring reverb, deep bass, and mixes that feel like they’re physically moving the air around you.

Based in Brighton, he’s made his name by channeling the spirit of the classic Jamaican studios while keeping it playful and contemporary. He’s worked with a wide range of vocalists and artists across reggae and beyond, and he’s especially known for those collaborations where a sweet melody meets a dubby, mischievous twist.

Live, that approach becomes an experience. This isn’t just tunes back-to-back — it’s sound-system theatre: bass you feel in your ribs, snares snapping in the night air, vocals appearing and disappearing in clouds of echo. The forest setting at Good Vibrations Society is basically the ideal venue for it: the trees catch the reverbs, the night makes the low-end feel bigger, and the crowd settles into that shared head-nod where everyone’s on the same wavelength.

If you’re looking for one of the weekend’s most immersive sonic journeys — part dance, part meditation, part mischievous grin — Prince Fatty is exactly that.
